![]() ![]() It paints a picture of serene tranquility, with the apple tree, and Blacksmith hard at work in his forge repairing armour of the Black Falcons who may have been out to war. With no conflict, monarchy or wars to be fought in sight, the set hearkens back to a time when cottage industries and artisans were the cornerstone of society. I really like the subject matter and the Blacksmith Workshop. Unfortunately, and this is going to disappoint many – the set lacks any goats, which were part of the original submission! While the new cream-coloured horse is nice, clearly someone at LEGO invested their entire life-savings into LEGO Goats and is determined to artificially keep their value high by refusing to re-release them! The inclusion of Black Falcon Knights will no doubt make vintage Castle fans very very happy, and I really hope that this is a tease towards a larger, Barracuda Bay-scale Castle that’s purportedly coming next year – if you trust the LEGO rumour mill. The set comes with four minifigures, a Forestwoman archer, hardworking Blacksmith, and 2 Black Falcon Knights! It’s a substantial build, and looks to be a stunning display piece – worthy of clearing up some new shelf real estate for. While the amount of detail and texture has had significant changes, I think the 4+ comparisons when the first photos emerged did not do this set justice at all. ![]() With minifigures for scale, the Medieval Blacksmith measures 27cm (10.5in) high, 27cm (10.5in) wide and 21cm (8in) deep. So let’s get this completely straight – this isn’t a small set. Once again, the dark background just looks drab and uninspiring, and while it allows the model to stand out, I think the designers have missed out on an opportunity to give it more personality, such as with a watercolour painting of a countryside. Nothing new with the bleak 18+ box designs that I dislike. Please consider using these affiliate links in the article if you’re planning to order the Medieval Blacksmith! I may receive a small commission from each purchase which goes a long way in paying for server costs, to keep the site humming! It has a release date of 1 February 2021, and will be available from and your local LEGO store. This isn’t a small set by any means, weighing in at 2,164 pieces, and priced at US$149.99 / AU$249.99. The Blacksmith is ode and love letter to old school Castle-era LEGO, with its Tudor-inspired design and medieval charm. Part of a collection of inspiring LEGO sets designed to help adults relax in a creative way, this building kit makes a wonderful gift for yourself or the LEGO fan or hobbyist in your life. After a pretty unceremonious reveal, I’m proud to be able to announce the next LEGO Ideas set – 21325 Medieval Blacksmith! There are 4 minifigures to bring the scene to life: a blacksmith, archer and 2 Black Falcon Knights with 4 swords, 3 shields and a halberd, plus a posable horse figure with a buildable cart and dog and treefrog figures. ![]() Other features include a glowing forge with a LEGO light brick, plus a garden with buildable models of an apple tree and a well. The roof and top 2 levels lift off for easy viewing of the fully furnished bedroom and kitchen, plus a workshop that is packed with items youd have seen in a real medieval blacksmiths smithy. The architectural details of a 3-level building from the Middle Ages are lovingly recreated in LEGO style. Take a break from modern life and build this magnificent LEGO Ideas Medieval Blacksmith (21325) display model. ![]()
